Our Aquamist Viridians are a sex-linked, backcross olive egger, producing stunning shades of aqua or sea foam green eggs, sometimes with hints of light teal or bluish gray tones from a tinted bloom. These hardy chickens are homozygous for the blue eggshell gene, and 100% of females lay beautiful light seafoam green eggs.
While this is the only generation that is sex-linked, pairing male and female Aquamist Viridian Sexlinks together will reliably produce offspring with the same seafoam green egg color.
Your chicks will display a variety of traits, including pea combs, straight combs, muffs, and even crests! 50% of chicks will be black, and 50% will have chipmunk/partridge/wild-type coloration. The males that hatch both black and partridge are identifiable by a white dot on their heads indicating that they will be barred. The females hatched will never have barring. The males will also have barring on their wing feather tips at 1 week old.
Lays aproximately 250 eggs yearly

Roosters 7-8 lbs
NOTE: When ordering these you will receive blue eggs, 100% of the female offspring from those eggs will lay sea foam green colors (as pictured).

While the black female sexlinks may sometimes resemble our Midnight Viridian in appearance, it is important that they are not introduced to a Midnight Viridian flock if your intention is to keep pure Midnight Viridian breeding stock.
